My first 55 fiction

I have read many 55 fiction stories and wanted to try my hand at writing one. But  I was somehow hesitant for a long time. Today, I finally decided to give it a shot. Here goes:

They exchanged rings as a mark of marital union. Her face glowed with happiness as she cherished the moment. Stretching  out her hands to reach his, she touched something cold and hard. She opened her eyes to find her hands on the bedside alarm clock. Becoming his wife would always remain a dream for her.

A Life Full of Sunshine

This is a short story which gives you a glimpse of one day in Ken's life. The story is narrated from the point of view of Ken and his wife.

Ken's point of view:

5:00 a.m

'That's the way You make me feel, Better than I've ever known it ..Better than It's ever been...,'

 my favourite track by Ronan Keating played on my mobile; awakening me from my slumber. My hands fumbled on the bedside table before turning off the alarm. I turned to look at her and admire her beauty, but she wasn't beside me. My heart almost stopped for a moment, before I touched the sheets on the bed. They were quite warm, indicating that she must have woken up a few minutes ago.

My thoughts flashed back to last night...

"I would love to go for an early morning walk at the beach. Can we go tomorrow?," she had asked. I had been more than happy to agree. After all, how could I say no to Kyra, my sweet wife?

The bathroom door opened, bringing me back to the present. My wife stepped out and I gasped. With a peachy complexion, an attractive figure,dressed in a simple sundress and wearing flowers in her hair, Kyra was the epitome of beauty and perfection. I couldn't stop staring at my gorgeous wife. "Good morning dear," she said as she kissed me. I wished her back and thanked my lucky stars for bringing  Kyra into my life...

Every thing around seems so wonderful

sand seems softer and

Each moment seems to stretch on until eternity,
as we stare into one anothers eyes
We sit beside each other,
not saying a word,
yet understanding each other perfectly..

Life's little pleasures,
give us immense joy
and sorrows are blown away
as we support each other

THE POWER OF LOVE

The word 'love' has different connotations. 
It exists in different forms- parental love, romantic love, love between friends; all love that arises out of blood ties, etc  
No matter what form it is received in, love has immense power. 
It helps you cheer up; uplifts your mood and is a feel good factor.
Metamorphically speaking, love has the power to move mountains.
Love can also be a source of comfort when you're in the dumps.
It can motivate you when the situation demands.
It can provide solace when you feel all is lost.
Receiving love makes you feel 'wanted' and you will feel the need to return the love.
Selfless love can touch lives
Love strikes a chord in your life..
Love brightens up your life.

" Love makes the world go round " is a phrase I totally believe in. 
My life has been enriched by love: from my parents, relatives, friends and well wishers.

Can't We Just Be Friends?

Note: This story is about love between two college goers. This is a work of fiction and characters portrayed are also fictitious, any resemblance to a real person, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

A boy is in love with a girl, who is also his close friend. He is hesitant to express his feelings.The two are classmates and have hung out frequently with their gang. The girl has no idea about the boy's feelings for her. She considers him a good friend, a support system, but does not have feelings for him.

One fine day, the boy finally tells the girl of his love. This is a total shock for the girl. She finds it hard to believe that such an incident has happened. She wonders where she had gone wrong. Had she acted in a manner that made her friend thing she was in love with him? This serves as a turning point for the friendship in question.

She tells the boy: "I never expected this from you! You are a very good friend, but I don't love you."

The boy, madly in love, tells her to think and reply. He asks her to consider him.

The girl says: "Please understand. I have never thought of you that way. You are a very good friend. I like you as a friend, but I'm sorry to say I do not love you. Moreover, I don't want to get into any relationship right now." And she walks away.

For the next few weeks, she tries her best to avoid the boy. It is a difficult task for her, since he is a very close friend of hers and she likes being with him. But nonetheless she decides that she has to do it. She can no longer be friends with a person who is in love with her. It wouldn't be the right thing to do.
